February 11 and 12, 2011
Jackie and Charlie Lawson of Orange Springs will
be hosting the 2nd Annual Wounded Warrior, Rodman Fishing trip again this
year. What made it such a success
last year was the boat captains that donated their time, equipment and
experience to provide what the warriors expressed was their ”best bass fishing
experience ever”. Our next event may have up to five Purple Heart recipients
from the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, plus a few staff. All of the boat captains
(5) last year expressed their positive feelings and volunteered to do it again;
however a couple have developed health issues that may prevent them from
participating again this year.
The Wounded Warrior In Action Foundation (WWIAF) < www.wwiaf.org >has put this event on their website and we will have a few of our nation’s heroes flying in from all over the states. There is so much invested (emotions, volunteer pilots, flight reservations, etc) with these heroes that we can’t afford the unknown. If you feel you have something to offer to help this worthy effort and would like to volunteer to help contact Charlie Lawson at:
Breakfast
will be served at 5:00 AM at my house for precipitants. Following breakfast,
arrangements have been made to get wild shiners (no cost to boat captains). The
boat captain will then launch at a ramp of his choosing. Following the day of
fishing on Saturday and Sunday, precipitants and their families are invited to
our house for a cookout. More details will follow.
Suggestions
welcomed.
