Save Rodman Reservoir, Inc. hopes the 2003 Florida legislature will pass two enactments during the session that will greatly improve Rodman's chances for long term survival.
Both pieces of legislation have been introduced in both the Florida Senate and the Florida House of Representatives and their texts are identical. The tables below lists both legislative items along with their text and the committees through which they must pass to be brought to a vote of the full senate and house.

Creates 258.166. Memorial (HM 1669 & SM 1665) in Brief:: The memorial was passed by the full House of Representatives on 4/10. The Senate version (which was identical to the house version) was slated for a vote on 4/16 by the whole senate. Since the house bill was complete, the senate bill was tabled and the house bill substituted in the senate and was adopted unanimously by the senate. The Memorial must now be signed by the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate before it is sent to Washington, D.C. It is expected the Marion and Putnam County Commissions will pass Memorials identical to the legislative version and these memorials will accompany the legislative Memorial to Washington D. C.
