TOURNAMENT RULES |
| 1. RULE CHANGES: Interpretation of these rules shall be left exclusively to the Tournament Rules Committee and the decision of the judges and tournament officials shall be final in all matters. | 8. BOAT AND MOTOR: For the safety of the contestants. ALL BOATS MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH SOME TYPE OF IGNITION KILL SWITCH. This ignition kill switch must be attached to the driver's body any time the boat is on plane. No air boats or pontoon boats allowed; however, these tournaments are open to all other brand of boats |
| 2. PARTICIPANTS AND ELIGIBILITY: This is a team tournament. The team may consist of two (2) anglers of either sex Participants should be at least 18 years of age. If a participant is under the age of 18 years, his or her partner must be of adult age and the adult partner must assume liability in all matters. | 9. BASIC BOAT EQUIPMENT: Every boat must have all required Coast Guard approved safety equipment. In addition, it must have a functional bilge pump and LIVE WELL SPACE PROPERLY AERATED TO ADEQUATELY MAINTAIN A LIMIT CATCH OF BASS BY BOTH FISHERMAN USING THE BOAT. Tournament officials shall have the sole responsibility for determining whether aeration and capacity are "proper and adequate". |
| 3. PRE-ENTRY: Boat numbers for launch sequence are determined as entry and moneys are received | 10. PERMITTED FISHING LOCATION: Fishing on the tournament waters is not permitted within 50 yards of any marina gas pump nor within 50 yards of another competitor's boat which was first anchored. Trolling motor must be up. No such anchored boat shall permit selected competitors to fish within the 5O yard circle claimed by him, to the exclusion of any other competitor. All angling must be done from the boat. A contestant may not depart the boat to land fish. COMPETITORS MUST LEAVE AND RETURN TO THE OFFICIAL CHECKPOINT BY BOAT. All competitors may return to weigh-in with their catch in another competitor's boat. Trailering of boats during tournament hours is prohibited except by direction of tournament officials. Fishing in water designated "off-limits" or "no boating' either by tournament officials or by federal, state, or local authorities, for any reason, will be cause for disqualification. Any area used for weigh-in and release of fish will be off-limits as set by the tournament director. |

| 5. SAFETY: Safe boating conduct must be observed at all times by all tournament competitors. Each competitor is required to wear a Coast Guard approved chest-type life preserver any time the boat is on plane | |
| 6. SPORTSMANSHIP: Competitors are expected to follow the highest standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety, and conservation. Drunkenness by any competitor during the tournament will not be tolerated and shall be cause for disqualification. Maximum courtesy must be practiced at all times especially with regard to boating and angling in the vicinity of non-competitors who may be on tournament waters. No alcoholic beverages or other stimulants or depressants shall be allowed in the boats. ANY INFRACTION OF THESE FUNDAMENTAL SPORTING PRINCIPLES MAY BE DEEMED CAUSE FOR DISQUALIFICATION. | |
| 7. TACKLE AND EQUIPMENT: Only artificial lures may be used. No live bait or prepared bait will be permitted with the exception of pork stripes, rinds, etc. Only one (1) casting, spinning, or spin casting rod (8-ft. maximum length from butt of handle to tip of rod) may be used at any one time. All other types are prohibited. Other rigs as specified above may be in the boat ready for use, however, only one rig is permitted in use at any given time. All bass must be caught live and in a conventional sporting manner. Intentional foul hooking of bass will not be permitted. Trolling is not permitted.
