4:00 AM comes early in the morning, but this morning fishermen were arriving at Kenwood Landing preparing for the day's fishing tournament.
Once tournament registration was complete and boats inspected and launched
it was time for breakfast.
Both basins were filling with boats and fishermen waiting for the morning's first light to start the tournament.
They're Off!
Out on the lake the day's fishing get underway. This is serious business!
A little before 3:PM the fishermen start returning to weigh-in their fish and get some Bar-b-que.
The crowd anxiously awaits the start of the weigh-in.
Catches are examined to make sure all fish are alive and then any small fish are measured to make sure they are of legal size.
Once the weighing is complete the fish are carried to a waiting Fish and Wildlife Commission boat
to be kept alive in aerated tanks, later to be released back into the reservoir.
When the weigh-in is complete, winners are announced and prizes and trophies are awarded (See below for complete list of winners and pictures.) The second part of the day's festivities are about to begin - the raffle. The crowd is ready!
There is a whole truck load of prizes to be raffled including a Kayak and a 2.5 horse power Mercury four-stroke outboard motor.
